Enzymotecs KREAL® krill oil gains FoS certification

K•REAL® of Enzymotec Ltd. has recently gained a Friend of the Sea (FOS) certification for its krill oil products sourced from a sustainable fishery. “Friend of the Sea” is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), whose mission is to conserve the marine habitat.

With this new FOS certification, Enzymotec’s krill oil products are now eligible to bear the Friend of the Sea seal identifying their origin from a sustainable source providing consumers with a guarantee of a sustainable, effective fishery management.

“As a company that is entirely committed to its products quality, the FOS certificate for our krill oil products means a great deal to us. This is yet another milestone in the numerous efforts that Enzymotec takes to ensure sustainability throughout our entire line of products, from ingredients that are designed for the infant formula market to the range of omega-3 based ingredients intended for the dietary supplements market, including Enzymotec’s leading cognitive ingredients” says Dr. Ariel Katz, CEO of Enzymotec.

K•REAL® is one of Enzymotec line of premium omega-3 products, extracted from sustainable Antarctic krill using a unique proprietary extraction process called Multi Stage Oil Extraction (MSO®). The MSO® innovative technology guarantees krill oil’s freshness and preserves the natural composition of omega-3 fatty acids throughout its shelf life. In addition, it improves the organoleptic properties of the krill oil.
K•REAL® has been clinically proven to be significantly more effective than fish oil in increasing the omega-3 index.
