Atunlo – Spanish Company commercializing frozen tuna products for the canning, processing and ready meals industries – has obtained renewal of the Friend of the Sea certification for its brand ATUNLO, following positive audit outcome.
Skipjack, albacore and yellowfin tuna products have been confirmed compliant with all Friend of the Sea strict sustainability requirements. ATUNLO sources tuna mainly from Pevaeche’s fisheries and fleets, which are already Friend of the Sea approved.
Mr. Jose Pernas, General Manager of ATUNLO states: “The European and Spanish tuna market is considering Friend of the Sea as the leading standard for tuna sustainability. Being accredited with Friend of the Sea proves that our tuna comes from fully sustainable resources.”
