San Omega’s Omega-3 supplements are now carrying Friend of the Sea seal of approval. The fish oil at the base of the whole product line originates from approved Friend of the Sea fisheries.
San Omega is a Norwegian company, developing and marketing Omega-3 fatty acids.
The fish oil is sourced from sardines, mackerels and anchovies fished in the Atlantic Ocean by a Friend of the Sea approved purse seine fleet. The fishery is managed according to sustainable criteria, with highly selective fishing methods and from stocks that are not overfished nor overexploited.
The fish oil stems from wild catch. The fishery takes place within the framework of a licensed, responsible production and it has achieved certification from the International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organisation (IFFO). The fish oil is processed in Norway in accordance with the strict legislation and controls on harmful substances and PCBs.
“We are enthusiastic in being part of the Friend of the Sea project,” comments Mr. Joakim Graff, CEO of San Omega. “Friend of the Sea eco-label explains our demanding customers that our company cares about the environment and conservation”.
