Swiss Fredag widens offer of FOS Black Tiger and Vannamei Shrimps

Fredag Vietnamese supplier positively concluded audit process. Its white leg and black tiger shrimps are now eligible to bear Friend of the Sea seal of approval becoming part of FOS certified Fredag range of products.
 

The South East Asia farming site comply with all sustainable requirements FOS certification scheme identifies and the Environmental Impact Assessment has been carried out with final positive outcome. There’s no use of antibiotics or growth hormones, and no chemical compounds are adopted to prevent infections or disease. The surrounding ecosystem was found to be preserved; water, waste and energy systems managed properly.
Some maintenance and control procedures, in particular concerning animals’ escapes were found to be compliant after having put in practice FOS required corrective actions. 
 

Friend of the Sea label once more guarantees the sustainable production process and origin of Fredag seafood in line with its commitment to boost a future-friendly sustainable life style.

Friend of the Sea is an international non-profit certification scheme for products from sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. Certified products are fished from not overexploited nor IUCN Redlisted stocks and with selective methods which do not impact the seabed.

The swiss Company Fredag was established in 1986 and since 1992 is part of the OriorGruppe. Employing today around 180 people has grown to become a leading player in the foodservice industry in Switzerland. The Company daily production is between 25 to 30 tons, (6500 ton per year) and provides the swiss market, (both wholesalers and retailers) with a large range of high quality poultry, meat, vegetarian and seafood convenience products.
