Incromega™ range granted Friend of the Sea certification

Croda’s Incromega™ range of omega-3 fish oil concentrates has been awarded the Friend of the Sea certification.

The Friend of the Sea program certifies sustainable seafood from fisheries and aquaculture. Accreditation of the Incromega™ range provides assurance that the fisheries in the Incromega™ supply chain are operating responsibly – including no overfishing, no bycatch of endangered species and no illegal, unreported or unregulated (IUU) fish.

Both the Incromega™ supply chain and production site have been audited by independent international certification bodies against strict sustainability criteria to achieve the certification.

Croda’s Nutritional Sales Director, Gerry Purnell, said “Croda is committed to ensuring responsible marine sourcing and raw material traceability throughout the supply chain. We are delighted to have our stance on marine sustainability accredited by the industry-recognised Friend of the Sea certification program.

Incromega fish oil concentrates are produced using industry-leading PureMax technology, ensuring the highest level of quality assurance at every stage of the supply chain and 100% purity guarantee on every batch. Friend of the Sea certification acknowledges the integrity of the PureMax™ process, from responsible sourcing to final batch release.

This follows the announcement that Croda International Plc, the company behind the IncromegaTM brand, has been listed as one of the top Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World for a second consecutive year. Croda was ranked 28th in the Global 100 listing, which assesses 12 quantitative indicators covering financial, social and environmental performance of around 4,000 of the world’s largest listed companies.
