Albion Fisheries goes Friend of the Sea for BC Salmon

The leader in salmon distribution in Western Canada has undergone chain of custody audit and has been approved as a supplier of Friend of the Sea salmon from sustainable fisheries and stocks compliant with the project’s criteria.

Albion Fishery, founded in 1963, is the largest seafood distributor in Western Canada with a customer base of over 1.000 clients comprising restaurants, retailers and broadline distributors in North America and Europe.
“We believe our association with “Friend of the Sea” and their sustainability initiatives increases the value of the Canadian Salmon products we supply” remarks Guy Dean – Albion Corporate Purchasing Manager.

Friend of the Sea is an international non-profit certification scheme for products from sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. Certified products are fished from not overexploited nor IUCN Redlisted stocks and with selective methods which do not impact the seabed.
