Sardines and tuna from German company Otto Franck obtain Friend of the Sea certification
Otto Franck – one of Germany’s leading food-importing companies – has successfully concluded Friend of the Sea certification renewal audit. Skipjack tuna and sardine (Sardina pilchardus) imported by Otto Franck can continue to display the international sustainability seal of approval.
Since 1920s, the company has been importing high – quality canned and frozen foods, for German and international customers.
Skipjack tuna and sardines imported by Otto Franck are fished by means of selective purse seine method in the Western Central Pacific and Eastern Central Atlantic, respectively.
“Throughout the years, Otto Franck Import has followed strict sustainability rules, in order to protect the environment and offer the safest products to its customers,” says Dr. Rudolf Kraus, General Manager of Otto Franck. “Being re-certified by Friend of the Sea further confirms our continued engagement to our environmental company policy.”
