Vietnamese Fine Foods Company achieves Friend of the Sea certification for sustainable aquaculture

Fine Foods Company fish farm located in Ca Mau province of Vietnam has achieved the Friend of the Sea sustainable aquaculture certification for Black tiger prawn. The company complies with all Friend of the Sea requirements and can now display the official seal of approval on its products.

The company relies on extensive type of farming and uses GMO-free and hormones-free fish feed. The total area of Fine Foods Company farm is 360 hectares, including 180 hectares of the surface water.

In addition, Fine Food Company has implemented a harvest traceability system that assures that all certified products come from approved systems.

“We are very proud to be certified by Friend of the Sea,” says Truong Huu Be, Vice Director of Fine Foods Company. “Providing our consumers with premium-quality and sustainable products has always been our main goal.”

Friend of the Sea

Over 500 companies in more than 50 countries have relied on Friend of the Sea to assess the sustainable origin of their seafood. Audits, based on the best and the most updated available scientific data, are run by accredited independent certification bodies. Recently the program has expanded to the certification of sustainable shipping, ornamental fish and whale watching operators.
