Norwegian producer of vitamins and supplements commits to environmentally sound omega 3 sourcing practices
HealthPack AS, the Norwegian producer of HealthPackTM vitamins and supplements, has earned certification for sustainable sourcing of omega 3 fish oils by Friend of the Sea . Friend of the Sea is the preeminent worldwide certification standard for products and services that respect and protect the marine environment. With this certification, HealthPack can display the Friend of the Sea eco-label on its products.
“It’s impressive to see a relatively early stage company make the right choices up front, committing to sustainability as part of its business model,” said Paolo Bray, Director of Friend of the Sea. “HealthPack can set an example for bigger players in the industry. If they can do it, so can the major companies.”
HealthPack AS is a small, family-owned company. The company recently launched HealthPackTM after almost three years development. HealthPackTM offers a combination of all 13 vitamins, 9 minerals and omega 3 capsules packed in convenient daily dosage packages. From the start, HealthPack has focused on raw materials and manufacturing that meet the highest quality and most environmentally friendly standards. For this reason, the company sources its omega 3 fish oil capsules from FOS-approved fisheries and suppliers.
“When it came to select an omega 3 manufacturer and supplier for our product, it was just a natural thing to choose one that was Friend of the Sea approved,” explains Gisli Eiriksson managing director of HealthPack. “We are really excited and grateful that HealthPack have been approved by Friend of the Sea and that we can have the logo on our package. It confirms to our customers that we care about the environment.”
