Established Italian Tour Operator specialising in cruises and diving trips, Scuba Cruise has launched an exclusive travel to the culturally rich city of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, from the 9th to the 19th of March 2024. The trip is in collaboration with the World Sustainability Foundation, in support of initiatives to conserve Vietnam’s wildlife.
Located on the banks of the Red River, Hanoi is one of the world’s most ancient capitals; founded over 1000 years ago. The Asian country is rich in species, with many endemic genus found there.
Scuba Cruise for Conservation
World Sustainability Foundation (WSF) is the non-profit arm of the World Sustainability Organization. WSF is contributing to the conservation of Vietnam’s wildlife through a collaboration with Save Vietnam’s Wildlife (SVW), a non-profit organization whose primary mission is the preservation of Vietnam’s flora and fauna.
Their rescue centre is home to several endangered species, such as pangolins, binturongs, otters, Owston’s civet, masked palm civet, and the leopard cat. As a result of our tourist donations through this exclusive trip, the World Sustainability Foundation will be positioned to support animals at the centre, while presenting tourists with a symbolic adoption certificate!
Founded by passionate travellers Ermanno and Claudia Soavi, Scuba Cruise has organised diving cruises for over a decade, with a hallmark trip to Egypt thirty years ago, along the then almost unknown Red Sea.
Ermanno and Claudia’s deep passion for water and life in the open air served as the initial driving force of the bold exploration. Experiencing the sea by boat was, and still is, the best way to fully enjoy the beauty of the ’world below’.
Scuba Cruise’s Adventure for Conservation
Scuba Cruise firmly believes in diving and sporting holidays, capable of providing special emotions, wonders, and unforgettable memories. More so providing travellers with relaxation, comfort and regeneration; this is evidenced by Scuba Cruise’s slogan – Safety, Comfort, Emotions!
The tour will be led by Claudia Soavi of Scuba Cruise, and Mario Passoni, Head of Conservation Projects at the World Sustainability Foundation. Mario bears an impressive profile in conservation; over the years he has worked as a nature guide in the Maldives, Kenya, Mozambique, Seychelles, and Nosy Be, Madagascar. Throughout his career, he has conducted coral restoration projects and photo identification of manta rays, whale sharks, and sea turtles. Currently, he serves as Conservation and Awareness Project Manager of the World Sustainability Foundation (WSF).
Accompanied by a Vietnamese guide, the trip will commence with the exploration of the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi. After which there will be a visit to the Save Vietnam’s Wildlife Rescue Centre (to which a percentage of the trip fee is donated). There will be an opportunity to volunteer in the centre to learn more about the animals and participate in the daily activities of the SVW rescue and veterinary team. This will serve as a one of a kind interactive experience where you will support animal enclosure maintenance, support daily food prep, and observe health checks. There will also be a tour of the enchanting Cuc Phuong forest, during which travellers will be given the unique opportunity to explore one of Vietnam’s oldest national parks.
Scuba Cruise’s Exclusive Vietnam Trip
The exclusive trip to Vietnam will also consist of a visit to the primate recovery centre, where specimens such as the Duke Langur Monkey will be viewed. The trip will then be marked by the exploration of rice fields and streams in Tam Coc, a visit to the Hang Mua temple, and Hoa Lu – the former royal capital of Vietnam, the Van Long nature reserve.
It concludes with a tour of Halong Bay, where participants will cruise along the bay and its islands on board an elegant cruise ship. The trip will come to an end with a stay on Cat Ba Island, with a restful seaside experience. This memorable trip will be topped off with the expert naturalist’s in-depth look at the local biology. Weather permitting, participants will spend time viewing the spectacular astronomy under the Vietnamese night sky.
