Grontvedt Biotech obtains Friend of the Sea® Certification

Premier Norwegian Biotechnology company, Grøntvedt Biotech has obtained Friend of the Sea®‘s Certification for its branded ingredient CETO3®. The company is part of the Grøntvedt Group, that have been in the business since 1830 with focus on developing and manufacturing top-grade marine ingredients derived from Norwegian pelagic fish Grøntvedt Biotech’s goal is to provide the global population with sustainable marine ingredients.

 

Friend of the Sea® Certification

 

Located in Ørlandet, Norway, Grøntvedt Biotech is strategically situated in close proximity to the raw materials utilised in the production process. This enables the production of prime marine products and fish oil from freshly chilled raw materials within minutes. Essentially, Grøntvedt Biotech assures consumers of exceptionally high quality products, while reducing carbon emissions as a result of minimised transportation footprints.

Following rigorous audits conducted by third-party auditors as part of the Friend of the Sea® certification process, Grøntvedt Biotech has proven to operate a sustainable business model, earning the worlwide recognised Friend of the Sea® Omega-3 Certification for CETO3®. The Omega-3 and Omega-11 product used in nutraceuticals and functional foods is derived from pelagic fish of the North Atlantic Ocean, and harvested by a Norwegian fishing vessel, with the license and quote system set by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
