World Sustainability Foundation Joins the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030

The World Sustainability Foundation (WSF) is proud to announce its recognition as an official Actor of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030, a prestigious initiative led by the United Nations to tackle climate change, protect biodiversity, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our planet.

WSF’s membership in #GenerationRestoration, a global movement involving over 150 partners, strengthens its commitment to biodiversity conservation and the regeneration of terrestrial and marine ecosystems.

As highlighted by the UN Decade, these ten years are critical: scientists warn that this is the most decisive period to combat climate change and protect over one million species currently at risk of extinction.

The World Sustainability Foundation is dedicated to supporting this global mission through:

  • Ecosystem restoration projects, including reforestation initiatives and coral recovery programmes;
  • Protection of endangered animal and plant species;
  • Engagement of local communities and younger generations in environmental stewardship;
  • Awareness-raising initiatives such as webinars, training courses, conferences, and events;
  • Promotion of activities through its channels, including the Sustainable Friends concept store.

Joining the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration marks an important step that reaffirms our commitment to expanding non-profit activities and promoting sustainable practices globally,” says Paolo Bray, Founder and Director of the World Sustainability Foundation.

Active since 2022, the World Sustainability Foundation is the non-profit arm of the World Sustainability Organization (WSO) and has already launched conservation campaigns in over 40 countries, focusing on protecting endangered species and critical habitats. Its core mission is to safeguard and preserve marine and terrestrial global biodiversity, recognising that nature conservation is essential for present and future well-being.

Supported through the proceeds of the sustainable certification programmes Friend of the Sea® and Friend of the Earth®, WSF will continue to build a collaborative network among governments, institutions, research centres, universities, and certified businesses to protect ecosystems and promote sustainable development.

Every action counts, every single day,” concludes Bray. “Together, we can make a tangible contribution to restoring ecosystems and ensuring a sustainable future for all species on our planet.
