Sea Dragon

New Zealand company Sea Dragon attains Friend of the Sea certification for Omega-3 sourced from tuna processing by-products and trimmings. This production prevents waste of valuable resources and avoids waste related environmental impacts.

The complete traceability of the product is maintained throughout the supply chain from the fishing vessel to the finished product ensuring that mixing with non-certified raw materials will not occur.

Sea Dragon is New Zealand’s largest refiner and blender of high-quality, internationally-certified Omega fish oils, sourced from fish, caught in the clean and pure waters of New Zealand, the South Pacific and other trusted sources, supplying nutraceutical and functional food manufacturers around the world.

Friend of the Sea’s certification for sustainable fish feed, fish meal, fish oil and Omega-3 certifies that the oil originates only from Friend of the Sea fisheries or from trimmings and by-cuts and that a full chain of custody is in place.

About their recent attainment, Mr Campbell Berry-Kilgour, Director of Sales, declares: “Sea Dragon is committed to the responsible sourcing of our raw materials, and attaining Friend of the Sea certification allows us to strengthen our position in respect of environmental sustainability”.

Paolo Bray, Founder and Director of Friend of the Sea, comments: “Sea Dragon should be taken as a reference in the nutraceutical industry as driver in environmentally responsible practices. We hope others will understand the importance of highlighting their conservation efforts in the marketplace”.
