“It is our aim at Mori Seafood to share with the world the best sustainable seafood from the Southern Ocean”, says Claire Moriarty Marketing Manager of the company.
This is Mori Seafood’s mission, a company founded and based in Port Lincoln, South Australia. “We ensure all processes are carried out in a sustainable way”, the company states “from fishing – including strict checks of all supplying boats – to processing in our factory and managing the cold chain, Mori Seafood upholds the highest standards and accreditations”.
Mori Seafood’s certified products with Friend of the Sea include their Mori Seafood Southern Rock Lobster and Southern Bluefin Tuna (Mori Tuna).
Southern Rock Lobster is also harvested under the Clean Green program, developed to standardize fishing activities for the benefit of the environment, animal welfare and food safety. Southern Bluefin Tuna is heavily regulated by the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna.
These two Friend of the Sea certified products are exported by Mori Seafood and distributed throughout North and South East Asia.
“Mori Seafood’s sustainability policy is strong – comments Paolo Bray, Founder and Director of Friend of the Sea – as the company sources only from sustainable fisheries. They are real friends of the sea and we are glad to be able to highlight and confirm their engagement to marine habitat protection.”
