Wester Ross has pioneered the use of anti-predator technologies to protect the salmon from attack by seals. The company can display the Friend of the Sea eco-label on its products.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<i>\u201cIt\u2019s always a great experience to work with innovators,\u201d<\/i> said <b>Paolo Bray, Director of Friend of the Sea<\/b>. <i>\u201cWester Ross is proving itself to be a leader in inventions that enable successful, but environmentally friendly fish farming techniques.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Wester Ross has created a device known as \u201cThe Box Net,\u201d which is positioned between the pen net containing the salmon and the ocean. It completely surrounds the pen net, thus protecting the salmon. This novel practice allows for the removal of underwater acoustic deterrent devices. Thus, while seals are present, they no longer present a risk to the salmon. This practice is one of a number of unique farming methods practiced by Wester Ross, all of which contribute to an enviable reputation for growing delicious Scottish
