Fished in the Mediterranean sea in South of Sicily,&nbsp; the anchovies are processed and packed in Torrenova, a little town near Messina, for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lidl.it\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Lidl Italia<\/b><\/a>\u2019s <b>Italiamo<\/b>, <b>Nixe<\/b> and <b>Deluxe <\/b>lines. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">The species is fished by Friend of the Sea\u2019s approved artisanal purse seine vessels with no impact on the seabed. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/gfcm\/activities\/fisheries\/stock-assessment\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>FAO General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean<\/b><\/a> (GFCM) 2015 assessment, discards generated by this fishing gear are below 1%. There are no records of protected species affected by this fishery.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">The certified supplier has also implemented an <b>efficient waste management system<\/b> to reduce pollution and optimizing all resources. In addition, the company meets Friend of the Sea\u2019s strict requirements of <b>social accountability <\/b>being all workers employed according to <b>national<\/b> and <b>ILO standards<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family:
