Fishing occurs in Eastern Indian Ocean by means of traditional hand-lining, a selective fishing method that does not affect the seabed.<\/p>\n<p>The fishing is carried out in compliance with the Marine Protected Areas regulation and the squid stocks are considered as being not over exploited nor over fished in that fishing area.
