The farms were audited by an international certification body and were found to be compliant with Friend of the Sea strict sustainability requirements. The prawns are farmed with no use of antibiotics. The farming sites were found to be managing their potential environmental impacts properly, preventing impact on surrounding ecosystem, managing water parameters, waste and energy appropriately.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 9pt;\">Mr. Fabio Piccione, Head of Trading at Fredag, comments: \u201cAchieving Friend of the Sea certification is of primary importance to us, since the Swiss market is today more and more conscious of what environmental sustainability and social responsibility really mean\u201d. Employing today around 180 people has grown to become a leading player in the foodservice industry in Switzerland.
