Esp\u00e9cies preciosas de peixe podem ser substitu\u00eddas por outras que s\u00e3o menos dispendiosas, facilmente dispon\u00edveis ou n\u00e3o comercializ\u00e1veis por serem potencialmente nocivas. Ao mesmo tempo, a demanda dos consumidores por sustentabilidade e rastreabilidade tamb\u00e9m cresce em todo o mundo devido \u00e0 maior explora\u00e7\u00e3o dos recursos pesqueiros.<\/p>\n

A an\u00e1lise gen\u00e9tica de esp\u00e9cies de peixes \u00e9 atualmente o \u00fanico m\u00e9todo \u00fatil para reconhecer, identificar e determinar diferentes esp\u00e9cimes, particularmente no caso de esp\u00e9cies morfologicamente semelhantes ou ap\u00f3s a perda de caracter\u00edsticas distintivas devido ao processamento.<\/p>\n
