Oceans EPA/DHA concentrates from Pharma Marine now Friend of the Sea certified

The Oceans Omega-3 ingredient line from Pharma Marine can now carry the Friend of the Sea seal of approval. Pharma Marine is already Friend of the Sea certified for the Calamarine® and CodMarine® line of EPA/DHA concentrates from sustainable seafood sources.

Oceans EPA/DHA concentrates derive from sustainable sardines and anchovies fisheries sourced by Friend of the Sea approved purse seine fleets targeting stocks in areas where overfishing is not occurring.

A reliable chain of custody is maintained throughout the supply chain from fisheries to manufacturing facility ensuring that mixing with non-certified raw materials will not occur. Labels provide clear data about origin, fishing method and fishing area.

“The recent Friend of the Sea certification of our Oceans omega-3 ingredient line is a further step in building trust to our sustainability work and makes it easier for our customers to make sustainable choices. The importance of responsible fishery management, control of biomasses and transparency in omega-3 products origin is something we take seriously at Pharma Marine. We are glad to be adding Oceans fish oil ingredient line to our existing third-party certified product portfolio, including FOS certified Calamarine®, and FOS and MSC certified CodMarine®”, comments Mr. Leif Kjetil Gjendemsjø, CEO of Pharma Marine AS.
