The fleet is strictly managed under the national fishing plan and it complies with <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <b> <a title=\"Friend of the Sea\" href=\"http:\/\/www.friendofthesea.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friend of the Sea<\/a> requirements<\/b> thanks to its selective fishing method, no by catch of endangered species and stock kept within maximum sustainable yield.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> <b>Friend of the Sea certification was achieved already in 2012 <\/b>for Cibel <b>sardines<\/b> and <b>mackere<\/b><strong>l<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201c<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">All our employees strongly believe in our duty to protect the oceans\u201d, said <b>Mohamed El Baissi<\/b>, General Manager of Cibel. \u201cMarine resources are essential both for their contribution to <b>biodiversity<\/b> as well as for the <b>sustainability of our economy<\/b>. This is why Friend of the Sea principles have become part of <b>our company policy<\/b>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In<b> <\/b>2018 the company felt the need to meet an increasing market demand for sustainable products and thus Cibel started the process to certify all of its factories, including the <b>fishmeal and fish oil plants<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">According to the latest industry data, over one third of fish meal and fish oil originate from trimmings and bycuts from processing lines.
